Happy Valley - Parish,New York

In the late 1800s there was a city its name was happy valley its is said.
it was a fairly big city. Until the black plague came and seemingly wiped out this city. Now very desolate there are roads thru out 5000
acres of land were "no won lives" there are many sightings of paranormal activity. If you where to get lost on one of its many roads
you would be seemly lost for days. Back in 1976 there were some friends driving thru and they stumbled upon a skull one of them put in the rear of there car while they were driving the eyes of the skull lit up bright red. They were spooked and never returned since. To this day no won will go alone on any giving night.

The way I heard it the skull caught fire and they disappeared. Saturdays are the most unusual in the haunts, and I've heard a lot of cases of the old school house shaking and dropping rubble on those within, but the DEC burned it down again because people kept breaking in. I've personally seen nooses taken from the site, some with blood on them. Can't be sure if those are legit or not, but they seemed realistically old. It is apparent that the spirits there are bound to the soil, not the buildings. I am a native to Altmar, and my high school is extremely close. Our cross country trail, which runs through the woods, is literally within walking distance of the cemetery. Oh, and there is an unconfirmed legend that 6 children were kidnapped from altmar during the civil war and taken down the salmon river to fraseur, which is the name of the town that was there. Some say that they died when some one set fire to the school house back in the 1800's, and before they burned it again, people saw writing on the chalk board and stuff. The nooses could be part of the alleged Ku Klux Klan occupation in the town. I don't know, it's really spooky as far as I can see.

I live close to Happy Valley and it is one of the scariest places to be day or night. I have never gone there at night. However, I alone have seen many unexplainable things during the day. There are many homes still there, clean cut grass in some, and if you walk the trails you can find some different areas that have man-made structures out of sticks and rocks. My cousin and his friends actually went there at night, they're 25-30, and got so scared they had to come home. The myths you hear are true; it is a purely creepy place!
